Counselling and psychotherapy are often used interchangeably, but they can represent different depths of support.
Counselling often focuses on current challenges such as anxiety, relationships, stress or life changes.
Psychotherapy allows space to explore deeper emotional patterns, past experiences and the parts of your story that may still be influencing how you feel today.
In practice, I integrate both. We may begin with focused support around a current difficulty and gradually move into deeper exploration where helpful.
Whatever shape therapy takes, the aim is to help you better understand yourself, your relationships and the experiences that have shaped you.
No two people are the same, which is why I do not believe therapy should follow a one-size-fits-all approach.
Some people come wanting practical support for anxiety, overwhelm or relationships. Others want to understand deeper emotional patterns, make sense of past experiences or explore why they keep finding themselves stuck in familiar cycles.
My work is grounded in curiosity, compassion and understanding what may sit underneath emotions, behaviours and relationships.
Rather than expecting you to fit a particular model of therapy, I draw from different therapeutic approaches depending on your needs, goals and what feels most helpful for you.
This means therapy can offer practical support when needed, deeper exploration when appropriate and always a collaborative approach that respects your pace and individual experience.
