Creative therapy offers a powerful way to explore emotions, thoughts, and experiences – and it's not about being good at art. It's about using creative tools to help express what can be hard to put into words. I use a variety of symbolic and imaginative resources that support both children and adults in exploring their inner world.
Picture and word cards can help unlock hidden thoughts and emotions. They're particularly useful for children who struggle to name their feelings, teens working through identity and self-image, and adults seeking deeper self-understanding.
Matryoshka (Russian) dolls offer a layered way of exploring parts of ourselves. Each doll can represent a different feeling, memory, or role – helping people of all ages reflect on the different aspects of who they are.
Sandtray therapy uses miniatures and a tray of sand to create scenes that reflect a person’s inner world. This hands-on approach is ideal for children who find talking difficult, teens exploring relationships and peer dynamics, and adults working through past trauma.
Crystals can be used as a grounding or focusing tool – helping us tune into intention, energy, and emotion.
Guided imagery invites the imagination to create inner landscapes, offering a calming, healing space for reflection, processing, and growth.
This way of working is gentle but powerful. It supports emotional regulation, self-expression, and personal growth – whether you’re a child learning to understand your feelings, a teen navigating change, or an adult healing from the past.
