Contact me at gemma@thehealingspacetherapy.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
I offer therapy for children (7+), teens, and adults, alongside dedicated parent support sessions.
My work is attachment-informed and trauma-aware, which means we focus not just on behaviours or symptoms, but on what sits underneath them — emotions, experiences, relationships, and nervous system responses.
Sessions may include talking therapy, creative approaches (such as sand tray, objects, or visual mapping), and practical tools to support emotional regulation, confidence, and relationships.
Standard sessions are 50 minutes. We can adjust session length to suit your needs, especially for younger children. Extended 80-minute sessions are available, particularly for those interested in creative/expressive arts or nature-based therapy. We can discuss this further during your initial consultation.
The first session is an initial assessment.
We’ll spend time understanding what’s brought you (or your child) to therapy, what support might look like, and whether this feels like the right fit.
If working with a child or teen, parents/carers are usually invited in at the beginning, and then the session may continue one-to-one with the child — depending on their age and comfort.
We’ll also talk through confidentiality, how sessions work, and answer any questions you might have.
I offer both in-person sessions (based in Lymm, Cheshire) and online sessions.
We can discuss what feels most comfortable and appropriate for you or your child.
You can book a free 15-minute telephone consultation via my booking link:
https://portal.therasee.com/the-healing-space/booking
This gives us a chance to briefly talk through what you’re looking for and next steps.
All therapy sessions are then arranged directly with me.
I understand that things come, but please let me know as soon as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment.
My cancellation policy is as follows:
Yes, counselling is confidential.
However, there are some important exceptions. If I am concerned about your safety, your child’s safety, or the safety of someone else, I have a duty to share this information with appropriate services.
This will always be handled sensitively and, wherever possible, discussed with you first.
I am a qualified psychotherapist and parent coach, with experience working with children, young people, and adults.
My work is grounded in attachment theory, trauma-informed practice, and relational approaches.
I also engage in ongoing professional development and clinical supervision to ensure safe and effective practice.
Yes, I am fully insured through Holistic Insurance Services to work with both adults and children aged 7 and above (11 and above for Walk & Talk). I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate, which allows me to work safely and appropriately with children and young people.
My insurance includes professional indemnity and public liability cover, and I follow all safeguarding procedures to ensure a safe and supportive environment for every client. If you have any questions about how I work, I’m always happy to chat further.
While I provide ongoing therapeutic support, I am not a crisis service and cannot offer emergency or out-of-hours care. If you or your child are ever in crisis, it’s important to seek immediate help from appropriate services.
