Counselling Psychotherapy

My work is grounded in Person-Centred Experiential Therapy (PCET), which places your emotions, experiences, and sense of self at the centre of the process. PCET creates a warm, non-judgemental space where you can feel deeply heard and supported as you explore what’s going on beneath the surface.

While PCET forms the foundation of my practice, I take an integrative approach, drawing from a range of evidence-based models to meet your unique needs and goals. These include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT):
Supporting you to understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are interconnected, and helping you make practical changes that can ease anxiety, low mood, or self-doubt.

  • Psychodynamic Therapy:
Exploring how past experiences and unconscious patterns may be influencing your current relationships, behaviours, or emotional responses.

  • Transactional Analysis (TA):
Offering insight into the different ego states we operate from, Parent, Adult, and Child, and how these show up in your relationships and communication style.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS):
Helping you get to know and support your internal ‘parts’ such as protective or wounded parts while developing a stronger, more compassionate relationship with your core ‘Self.’

  • Inner Child Work:
Inviting connection with younger aspects of yourself that may be holding unprocessed feelings, unmet needs, or early relational wounds, especially helpful in parenting work or trauma healing.

This integrative way of working means your therapy is always tailored to you, offering structure when helpful, space when needed, and a collaborative relationship throughout.

The terms counselling and psychotherapy are often used interchangeably, but they can represent different depths and focuses of support.

Counselling typically focuses on short-term or immediate challenges such as managing anxiety, coping with a life transition, or navigating relationship issues. It’s goal-oriented and supportive, helping you process what’s happening now and develop tools to move forward.

Psychotherapy tends to be longer-term and more exploratory. It’s well-suited to those wanting to understand deeper emotional patterns, explore past experiences, or make sense of long-standing internal struggles. This work often leads to meaningful insight and lasting transformation.

In practice, I integrate both counselling and psychotherapy approaches. Our work might begin with focused support around a specific issue and, over time, gently deepen into a more reflective and exploratory process, depending on what feels right for you.

  • We might start with practical strategies, emotional regulation tools, or short-term support.

  • As trust builds, we may begin to explore deeper relational patterns, emotional wounds, or parts of yourself that need attention and care.

Whatever shape our sessions take, my goal is to offer a safe, collaborative, and compassionate space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Creative Therapy: A Gentle, Insightful Approach to Healing

Creative therapy offers a powerful way to explore emotions, thoughts, and experiences – and it's not about being good at art. It's about using creative tools to help express what can be hard to put into words. I use a variety of symbolic and imaginative resources that support both children and adults in exploring their inner world.

Picture and word cards can help unlock hidden thoughts and emotions. They're particularly useful for children who struggle to name their feelings, teens working through identity and self-image, and adults seeking deeper self-understanding.

Matryoshka (Russian) dolls offer a layered way of exploring parts of ourselves. Each doll can represent a different feeling, memory, or role – helping people of all ages reflect on the different aspects of who they are.

Sandtray therapy uses miniatures and a tray of sand to create scenes that reflect a person’s inner world. This hands-on approach is ideal for children who find talking difficult, teens exploring relationships and peer dynamics, and adults working through past trauma.

Crystals can be used as a grounding or focusing tool – helping us tune into intention, energy, and emotion.

Guided imagery invites the imagination to create inner landscapes, offering a calming, healing space for reflection, processing, and growth.

This way of working is gentle but powerful. It supports emotional regulation, self-expression, and personal growth – whether you’re a child learning to understand your feelings, a teen navigating change, or an adult healing from the past.

Walk and Talk Therapy

Walk & Talk therapy combines traditional counselling with the calming benefits of being in nature. Instead of sitting indoors, we take our sessions outside - walking through parks, gardens, or quiet nature trails.

The gentle rhythm of walking, fresh air, and natural surroundings can help reduce stress, ease anxiety, and create a more relaxed space to talk. Many people find that walking side-by-side feels less intense than sitting face-to-face, making it easier to open up and reflect.

This approach is ideal if you find the idea of a traditional therapy room a bit overwhelming or if you simply feel more at ease in the outdoors. Moving your body can also help lift your mood, release tension, and support emotional processing.

Nature often mirrors our inner experiences - growth, change, stillness - and can offer powerful moments of insight. Walk & Talk therapy supports both your emotional and physical wellbeing, offering a more holistic path to healing and personal growth.

Online Therapy

Online therapy is a flexible and accessible way to receive counselling from the comfort of your own home. Using a secure video platform, sessions feel just like a face-to-face conversation while still maintaining privacy and confidentiality.

This option is ideal if you have a busy schedule, limited mobility, or simply prefer the convenience of online support. It removes the need to travel, making therapy more accessible wherever you are.

I use a range of therapeutic approaches during online sessions, including talk therapy and CBT, tailored to suit your needs.

Online therapy offers a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts and emotions, build self-awareness, and work towards meaningful change - no matter your location or circumstances.
